Born at Manchester in 1873 James Harold France was the son of James France and Maggie Rennie France, his father beings manager of a starch works.
For twenty-five years Harold France was one of the most prominent members of the Manchester Reform Club, and in his twenty-seven years membership he filled many offices, becoming vice-president in 1921. From 1909 he served almost continuously on the General Committee, of which he became chairman in 1913.
James Harold France died on 30 March 1925 at Cornist Hall, Flint
