John Adam Whyatt

John Adam Wyatt was born on 11 December 1833, the son of John and Jane Whyatt and was a pupil of Willami Wilson of Manchester. He commenced independent practice about 1870 and later joined in partnership with James Redford (1863-1868) and William Mellor (1870-1871). He was Surveyor to Levenshulme Local Board and carried out the construction of sewers in Green Lane, Patricroft, for the Board of Health for Barton Eccles Winton and Monton (1867). On 1 September 1859 at Nantwich Cheshire, (his mother’s birthplace), he married Louisa Ellen the daughter of Rev Anthony Gilbert. His eldest son was Henry Gilbert Whyatt (qv) later Borough Engineer of Grimsby.
John Adam Whyatt died at Nantwich on 19 June 1871, aged 37.
