The son of John and Betty Timperley, Nathan Timperley married Sarah Newton on Christmas Eve 1820 at Manchester. (His age given as 21 years, hers 19 years). In 1827 he went bankrupt as a result of land speculation in Salford. By 1829 when the matter was dinally resolved and he was released fom the debtors' prison at Lancaster, rent arrears on the land amounted to £120. He died of apoplexy, aged 66, on 30 April 1866. Although designated architect and surveyor in the bankruptcy proceedings, he has no recorded architectural work.
