Percy Churchill Larmuth was the son of George Horatio Larmuth, (1838 – 1913) who was well-known in Manchester as an auctioneer, estate and mortgage agent, land and building agent, valuer and surveyor, valuers for probate and estate purposes, insurance agent. The business (George H Larmuth and Sons) was continued by Reginald Larmuth). He trained as an architect and commenced independent practice in Cross Street Manchester about 1908. In 1922 he entered into partnership with his brother George Harold Larmuth under the style Larmuth Brothers. G H Larmuth had previously been a valuer for HM Inland Revenue.
