Percy Morrey

A MANCHESTER ARCHITECT'S SUCCESS - The Grisell Prize—a gold medal and £50 - awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects; has been gained by Mr Percy Morrey, MSc.Tech, ARIBA, a member of the teaching staff of the building department of the College of Technology. The subject of the design was a steel-framed warehouse building. The competition for the prize is held annually, and is open to any British subject who has not been in architectural practice for more than ten years. A high standard of work is demanded, and no prize is awarded unless this standard is reached. The prize was not given in 1921 or 1922. The object of the competition is to encourage the study of construction in conjunction with architectural design. [Manchester Guardian 27 January, 1923 page 13]
