The son of Thomas Mayor, architect and his wife Elizabeth, Thomas Clemishaw Mayor was the younger brother of Charles Kay Mayor and was born in Chorlton-on Medlock in 1871. In 1898 Thomas Mayor retired. Thomas Clemishaw Mayor joined his brother Charles Kay Mayor in partnership under the style C K and T C Mayor to continue his father’s practice. Following the death of Henry Stelfox, Thomas Mayor’s former partner, C K and TC Mayor completed his unfinished commissions.
