Little is yet known of Thomas Faulkner who appeared in the Manchester Directories between 1847 and 1861.  He was born on 7 June 1796 and was still living in London in 1841.  Thomas Harmon Faulkner died on 1 May 1875 as a result of injuries received in an accident in King Street Manchester on 28 April. The inquest was reported in the Manchester Guardian:            

FATAL STREET ACCIDENT - The Manchester City Coroner held an inquest yesterday on the body of Mr T H Faulkner, aged 70, (sic) architect, late of 40 Haworth Street, Waterloo Road. About half past four o’clock on Wednesday afternoon last the deceased was crossing King Street with his wife, when he was knocked down by a handsome cab, which had come up behind him unperceived. The wheels passed over his body inflicting severe internal injuries of which he died on Saturday. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death. No blame was attached to the driver. Married (1): Caroline Banford on 19 June 1816 at St. Giles Cripplegate, London. She died after 1861.
Married (2): Ann Gaskell of 25 Howarth Street Cheetham on 11 April 1869 at Manchester Cathedral. He was 73, she 35. One son, Alfred Harmon Faulkner, born in 1870.
