Born the eldest son of Henry and Emma Aldred, William Henry Aldred was baptised at Manchester Cathedral on 21 December 1864. His father was a surgeon at 131 Great Ancoats Street.  William Henry Aldred was first employed by Manchester Corporation as an inspector of property before commencing practice on his own account as architect and surveyor. Little is yet known of his subsequent professional career.  On 30 August 1891 he married (i) Sarah Jane, the daughter of Charles Richard Bullivant at Sparkbrook, Birmingham. She died in 1892 following the birth of their daughter, Edith Maye. He married(II) Jane Ellen Bowers at Bolton on 1 January 1901.

 William Henry Aldred died on Christmas Day 1910 at Kearsley, Bolton leaving effects of £23.
