Sutton Trust 310 flats, all to be provided with the latest gas and electrical appliances. Comprising 77 three-roomed flats, 186 two-roomed flats 31 one-roomed flats and 16 combined dwellings. By September 1936 one block was almost complete, with tenants expected to move in within four weeks. This block, four storeys high, was immediately behind the Toc H Mark XIV headquarters on Eccles Old Road, built on land formerly occupied by Ashfield Tennis Club. However the main line of buildings was on the site of the West Salford Labour Club. As part of the scheme, a “parklet” was to be formed, facing Eccles Old Road.
