New build

Agnews' London building is remarkable - once again Salomons adopts a completely new style – this time Queen Anne, in the highest quality brickwork – every brick is said to have been rubbed; and with various decorative panels: there is a two-storey curved oriel bay supported on an intricate brick corbel. The decorative brickwork was carved in-situ by Knox, Finlay & Smith. Internally there were red cut-velvet wall coverings to provide the background for pictures of all periods – some of the original wall coverings remain. Salomons drew a perspective showing William Agnew in his gallery, a picture which still hangs there.
