Stockport’s first purpose-built cinema opened its doors on12th October 1910 as the “Electric Theatre.” The theatre was refurbished and altered by William Swann in 1921 and re-named “The Super-Cinema”. In 1937 the cinema was further modernised and the front rebuilt - architect George Clayton of Poynton. Demolished 1967.
