MANCHESTER SCHOOL BOARD, MEMORIAL STONE LAYING - Yesterday morning the Rev. J. Nunn, chairman of the Manchester School Board, performed the ceremony of laying the memorial stone of the board school in course of erection Bangor-street, Hulme.  The new school fronts to Bangor-street and Denton Street. The general plan the building is the form of the letter H the main school rooms forming the connecting band, and the class rooms, cloak rooms, etc, stretching along either street. On the ground floor provision is madeforabout230 infants. On the first floor are a mixed school for boys and girls, and a school for about an equal number of older boys. The space covered by the boys' school  is intended serve at present as a covered playground, and has been so arranged that should an increase of accommodation become necessary it may readily be transformed into an additional school. The elevations simply treated in a Gothic style. Common brickwork forms the general wailing, and free use has been made of red terra cotta for the decorative features. The heating throughout is by open fireplaces, and two ventilating turrets serve for the extraction of vitiated air. Messrs R.
