Board School for 250 scholars Summit Littleborough

LITTLEBOROUGH — The Littleborough school board proceeded on Thursday night in last week to select a design from those submitted in competition for a new school at Summit. The plans bearing the motto "1A" were chosen, on the recommendation of a committee, and on opening the envelopes they were found to be by Messrs Butterworth and Duncan, South Parade, Rochdale, who were formally appointed architects for the new building at a commission of £5 per cent, on gross cost.  [Building News 7 February 1896 page 223].
