A large Arts and Crafts style hall with a high timbered vaulted roof, built to replace the Great Bridgewater Street Wesleyan Chapel sold for the building of the Great Northern Warehouse.  Demolished in 1960s for the building of the Mancunian Way

MANCHESTER WESLEYAN MISSION - The foundation stones of the new premises in Queen Street Hulme were laid on Saturday afternoon, when an immense crowd of people, chiefly inhabitants of the district, witnessed the ceremony. Their interest in the proceedings was manifested in various ways, especially the applause which greeted the several gentlemen who took part. After singing and prayer the Rev. S. F. Collier explained that, owing to Great Northern Railway extension in Deansgate. the old Great Bridgewater Street, Chapel and Schools had been sold. The Trustees were pledged to furnish another home for the congregation worshipping there. The need for extension in Hulme had long been felt, and after much deliberation additional ground had been secured in Queen Street sufficient for the erection of a large hall and schools equal to the needs of the neighbourhood.  The hall would seat 1,000 adults and the schoolroom nearly 1,000 children. There would be nine class-rooms, with a gymnasium, coffee-room, and working men's club. [Manchester Guardian 5 July 1897 page 9]
