BROUGHTON - the Salford Council have confirmed a resolution of the Baths Committee in selecting the plans of Messrs Mangnall and Littlewoods of Brown-street, Manchester for the new baths for Broughton. Seven sets of designs were sent in, each under a special motto, and those marked “Leander” by Messrs Mangnall and Littlewoods have been awarded the first position and are to be carried out. The second premium of £30 was given to Messrs Darbyshire and Smith, whose motto was “Greater Salford”and the third premium of £20 goes to Messrs Booth and Chadwick, who adopted the motto of “Simplex.”
