FFRITH. LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE OF A NEW CHAPEL -The Calvinistic Methodists of Ffrith having decided to erect a new chapel, the ceremony of laying the foundation stone was performed on Tuesday week, the weather being very favourable. In the afternoon, a public tea meeting was held and was largely attended, after which an adjournment was made to the site of the new place of worship, and the stone was laid by Mrs. J. Harrison of Minera, in the presence of a numerous assembly. The silver trowel was supplied by Mr. Fraser, jeweller, of High-street, Wrexham, and bore the following inscription Presented to Mrs. J. Harrison, Minera, on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the Ffrith Calvinistic Methodist Chapel, Aug. 15th, 1871." The new building will be from the design of Mr. Owen, Breck-road, Liverpool, and the contractor is Mr. M. Hughes, of the Adwy. [Llangollen Advertiser 25 August 1871 page 3]
