TO BUILDERS AND OTHERS. The Burial Board for the Parishes of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Leonard, Bridgnorth, are desirous of receiving TENDERS from Persons willing to CONTRACT for the ERECTION of TWO CHAPELS and a LODGE, at the New Burial Ground near that Town. Sealed Tenders are to be sent in to the undersigned, on or before the Tenth day of June next. The Plans and Specifications may be inspected at the Offices of the Clerk to the Board, Bridgnorth, or of Mr James Edmeston, Architect, (in conjunction with Mr George Truefitt,) Coventry. The Contractor will be required to find Security for the due performance of his Contract. The Board will not be bound to accept the lowest or any tender. EDWARD W. The new cemetery at Bridgnorth has been consecrated. The site is about half a mile distant from the town. There are two small Gothic chapels erected with Marlbrook quarry stone, and having Bath stone dressings, from the designs of Messrs Truefitt and James Edmeston, junior. A lodge stands on the right of the entrance, occupied by the Superintendent and Registrar. The cemetery has been laid out and buildings erected at a cost of £2240; the sum allowed by the Burial Board being £2450. [Civil Engineer and Architects Journal 1855 Volume 18 page 326]
