TO BUILDERS and CONTRACTORS - NEW CHURCH. GLODWICK, NEAR OLDHAM — Parties desirous of Tendering all or any portion of the Works of the above Church, may inspect the Drawings and Specification at the offices of the Architects, Messrs Starkey and Cuffley, 26, Cross-street, Manchester, from the 1st to the 8th of June: after which. the Plans will lay at the Vestry of the Parish Church, Oldham, until the 17th of June, upon which day Tenders are to be delivered, addressed to the Rev. CONSECRATION OF A NEW CHURCH – The new church, lately erected near Lees Road, Greenacres Moor, Oldham for the new ecclesiastical parish of Glodwick was consecrated on Wednesday last by the Lord Bishop of Chester. Christ Church, which is a cruciform structure, with a tower of moderately handsome proportions, contains 40 free seats, and 400 private and reserved seats, and was designed by Messrs Starkey and Cuffley, architects, of Manchester. {Manchester Guardian 30 November 1844 page 3]

Only the tower with its fancy battlements and big pinnacles remain. The rest is demolished. The church was built by the Commissioners for c.£2500.  Pevsner Pg. 359.

Pevsner and Wyke list the architect as A.D. Cuffley, not Starkey & Cuffley.
