On Thursday, the 10th instant, a public meeting was held at Clitheroe, for the purpose of presenting piece of plate to E. H. Shellard, Esq., architect, of Manchester, for his gratuitous professional services in the improvement of St. James's Church, in that town. The plate bore the following inscription: "Presented to E. H. Shellard, Esq., for his kind gratuitous services in the erection of tower and gallery to St. James's Church, Chtheroe. The Rev. W Morgan BA, Minister; J. Haworth, J. Mercer, Churchwardens.
