The exterior of the new church will be plain but neat and will be built of stock brick with the main entrance facing Bolton Road. Internally it will consist of a parallelogram, 64 feet long by 40 feet wide with galleries and is intended to provide accommodation for 700 persons. The seating, etc. is in pitch pine and all the seats will be hollowed while racks take the place of the usual book boards. A minister’s vestry and lecture-room to seat about 50 is also included as also an organ or gallery behind the rostrum, raised 6 feet above the main floor which slopes thereto. The estimated cost will be about £1,800. Mr. G. Fell, of Spring. Gardens, Manchester, is the architect and the contractor is Mr. Gerrard, of Swinton. [Bolton Evening News Monday 10 April 1882 page 4]
