On Saturday last.,October 28th, foundation‑stones were laid of a new Congregational church, Buxton road, Stockport. The building is to provide accommodation for 400 persons, and is being erected at a cost of about £3,000. The contract has been intrusted to Messrs. S. Robinson and Sons, builders, Hyde, who are carrying out the work under the superintendence of Messrs Sankey, Cubbon, and Cubbon, King‑street, Manchester. [Building News 3 November 1899 Page 608]

Foundation‑stones of a Congregational Chapel were laid in Buxton‑road, Stockport, last week. The building, which will cost ,3,000, will be Late Decorated in style, built of Yorkshire parpoints with red sandstone dressings, and fitted up in pitch-pine. Accommodation will be provided for 400 persons. The architects are Messrs Sankey, Cubbon, and Cubbon of Manchester. [Building News 10 November 1899 Page 620].
