Conservative Club and Union Bank of Manchester, Silver Street, Bury
Built on a corner site by the Union Bank of Manchester as branch premises with two shops to Silver Street and the entrance to the Conservative Club on Broad Street. Corner entrance with octagonal turret at the junction. Three storeys ashlar stone in a blend of Classical with Art Nouveau details giant order of iconic columns – three bays to Silver Street and one bay to Broad Street. Curiously, the elevational treatment above the shop units does not follow the same pattern. The building featured sculptural decoration including seated female figures to the gables at each end of the bank

NEW CONSERVATIVE CLUB AT BURY - New premises secured by the Bury Central Conservative Club were formally opened last night by Colonel O. O. Walker. president of the club. in the presence of a large gathering of the members. The building has been erected by the Union Bank of Manchester, from whom it has been leased by the Bury Conservatives. and it has furnished and decorated at a cost of over £600. BURY CONSERVATIVES. OPENING OF NEW CENTRAL CLUB - The Central Conservative Club in Broad Street, Bury. over the newly-erected Union Bank of Manchester was opened by Colonel O. O. Walker on Thursday.
