NEW CONSERVATIVE CLUB FOB HEATON PARK: CUTTING THE FIRST SOD The Conservatives and Liberal Unionists of the Heaton Park district of Prestwich Parliamentary Division have long felt the want of a club in their midst, and for several months a scheme has been on foot by which a building worthy of the cause might be raised. A company was formed with Mr F J Astbury as chairman and all arrangements have now been made and plans adopted for the erection of a club house in the vicinity of Whittaker-lane Schools.  On Thursday morning the first sod was cut of the new site on which it is intended at once to erect a building somewhat on the lines of Swinton Conservative Club, to cost fully £1000. There will a bowling green attached and every modern convenience. Mr Percy Lodge is the architect and Messrs Leach and Sons Prestwich the contractors.
