The new residence, which has been named Rushton Bank* has been designed for Mrs Spiegelberg  by Charles Clegg & Son of New Brown Street Manchester and built by Messrs J T Hollinworth and Son of Patricroft. It is a long two storey building with roughcast walls, small metal casement windows in rustic style, fixed to wood frames, and with a gabled front entrance. The entrance is a very charming piece of work, though kept severely simple. It opens into the spacious hall, well-lighted and decorated in dignified style, which gives entrance to the dining room, living room and den with the usual offices and servants' quarters. The living room is formed on the south side with a bay window which opens out on to a verandah. Above this verandah, on the first floor, is a large balcony to which access is gained from three of the bedrooms. From here a wonderful view can be obtained of the low-lying surrounding countryside, a typical Cheshire panorama. [Manchester City News 25 September 1926 Special Building Trades Number]
