Cotton Mill, Milnshaw Estate, Darwen

In the presence of the architect (Councillor J. B Thornley of Darwen), the first sods on the Milnshaw Estate, the site of the new mill for the Accrington Mill Building Company, were cut on Monday. Councillor Thornley in a brief speech, remarked that all would be done that possibly could be done by himself and those under his charge to give the company a thoroughly efficient and cheap mill.
