COLWYN BAY - There is to be erected shortly a new drill-hall and miniature rifle range for the 5th battalion of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in Prince’s Drive Colwyn Bay. The plans show a large hall, with lecture room and rooms for officers, sergeants, orderlies, etc. At the last meeting of the County of Denbigh Territorial Association, the tender of Mr B Lumb of Todmorden and Old Colwyn, was accepted for the building operations, and work is to be put in hand at once, and completed in the early part of next year. The architects for the building are Messrs J M Porter and Elcock, the Estate Office, Colwyn Bay. [Building News 4 November 1910 page 669]

The front of Prince’s Drive will be finished simply, but it will express to some extent the purposes of the building. At the last meeting of the Denbighshire Territorial Association the tender of Mr B. Lumb, of Todmorden and Old Colwyn, was accepted for the building operations. it is understood that work is to be put in hand at once and completed in the early part of next year. COLWYN BAY'S NEW DRILL HALL - The above is an illustration of the new Drill Hall to be built in Prince's Drive, Colwyn Bay, for the use of the local Territorial Company. Details of the structure were published in our last issue. It should, however, be added that this building is particularly interesting to Territorials generally, because the plans have been arranged after the very careful consideration of the War Office, and it is probable that the hall will form a model for the guidance of the authorities in other parts of the country, where similar buildings are to be erected.
