A brick-built five-storey textile mill built by the Duke Spinning Company. Ceased production in 1937 and the mill converted to an engineering works. Used for warehousing in 2016.

The first sod of the proposed mills of the Duke Spinning Company was cut at Shaw, near Ashton - under-Lyne, on Wednesday week, with some ceremony. The architect is Mr. Joseph Stott, of Clegg-street, Oldham, and the contract for erection has been taken by Messrs. Richard Hilton and Sons. [Building News 30 March 1883 page 415]
