Dwelling House and Shop 66 George Street Altrincham
This building occupies a prominent position in George-street, Altrincham and has been built for Mr J G Richmond who is resident in the neighbourhood. The lower portion is selected white ends with stock dressings and the upper (as shown) in the old black and white style. The contract for £557 was let to Mr Martin Stone, builder, Altrincham, and the architects are Messrs Tate and Popplewell of Manchester.
It is a striking landmark along the high street, a three storey black and white structure with a combination of tripartite/corbelled bay and timber framed mullion and transom windows. The roof is multi pitched with decorative ridge tiles and timber barge boards.
