A pair of semi-detached houses, two-storey with attic, designed by Thomas Hartas for Robert, the brother of Walter Barringer of Barringer, Wallis & Manners, tin box manufacturers of Rock Valley. Access to properties is by means of a porch to side elevation above which appears the hipped dormer to attic, front façade has  ground floor bay window. These buildings are constructed from local white stone, with dressings of purple stone from Matlock. Edenbank was occupied by Walter Barringer’s partner, Charles Manners, while Edenwood was occupied by James Handley Hopewell of J. H. Hopewell & Son, wine and spirit merchants of Albert Street, Mansfield.
