ALL SAINTS SWINTON -  As a fitting memorial to the centenary of Swinton Old Church, St Peter’s, it has been decided to extend All Saints School, Wardley Lane, Swinton at a cost of £1,000. The plans have been prepared by Mr Medland Taylor, architect, and the contract has been let to Messrs Jonathan Gerrard and Sons, builders, Swinton. Swinton Old Church was opened on 10 April 1791 and consecrated on 11 July in the same year. [Manchester Courier 7 June 1890 page 8]

The Earl of Ellesmere has subscribed £100 towards the cost of enlargement of All Saints School, Wardley Lane, Swinton. The total cost of the work will be about £1000. Mr Medland Taylor of Manchester is the architect. Manchester Courier 20 June 1890 page 6]

The memorial of the centenary of the Old Church at Swinton will take the form of an extension of All Saints' Schools, Wardley-lane, in that township.
