A FUSILIERS' MEMORIAL - The committee who have been considering the most suitable way of commemorating the 2,200 officers and men of the Salford Brigade of the Lancashire Fusiliers who fell in the Great War have approved the design of Hubert Worthington, the well-known architect for a memorial in Sacred Trinity Church. In addition to the renovation the memorial that was erected in the church to commemorate the men who were killed at, Tiepval, the remaining 1.800 names will be inscribed on vellum in groups of 300 and wills be hung on the six piers of the church. On the pier nearest the south door there will also be dedicatory inscription. It has also been decided to have the colours of the four battalions (15th, 16th, 19th, and 20th Lancashire Fusiliers) which composed the brigade embroidered at the Royal School of Needlework, with the appropriate honours, and afterwards they will again be displayed in the church.
