The basement storey and the baths portion are now being rapidly proceeded with, The rubble walling and concrete work has been let to Mr Bell, mason, Douglas at a schedule of prices; Mr Thomas Kewley, builder, Douglas, the contract for carpenters' and joiners' work. The contract for plumbing and glazing to Messrs Lloyd and Bridge, Manchester and (to) Mr John Robertson, Manchester, the contracts for slates, tiles glazed bricks marble and slate work. The architects are Messrs Speakman and Hickson, 28 St Ann's Street and Mr Peter Pons, 41 John Dalton-street, Manchester. [British Architect 4 February 1876 Page 65]
P Kelly - Pons was the first architect for this scheme but was subsequently replaced by Speakman.
