THE RECHABITE ORDER. NEW HEADQUARTERS IN MANCHESTER - The new head offices of the Independent Order of Rechabites in North Parade; Deansgate, Manchester, were formally opened last evening by the High Chief Ruler of the Order (Mr. Joseph Cave, Leicester). The block of buildings in the North Parade, in the locality known as St. Mary's Parsonage, was acquired by the Order and taken over for adaptation as long ago as 1915. The premises were entered upon, and the portions of the building not needed for the Order were let, as they now are, to various tenants. War conditions prevented the carrying out of the contemplated alterations, and in the same building accommodation had to be provided for the use of the Ministry of Pensions. Now the work of adaptation has been completed, the architect (Mr. W. Longworth) has put in a dignified main entrance, made new staircases, and has altered the building to the advantage of all the users. Headquarters of the capacity now offered were needed by an Order which has attained the proportions of the Rechabites.
