Built on a plot of land sold by the trustees of Samuel Brooks (deceased) at a cost of £1534. The school closed in 1981 and, after renovation in 1991-2, opened as a kindergarten for Bowden Preparatory School. Plans dated April and August 1871 are deposited in Cheshire County Records Office
