Another new works on similar lines is that of Messrs Cohen & Wilks’s, in Derby-street. The site has an area of some three acres, and when this is covered it will constitute one of the largest factories under one roof in Manchester, and have accommodation for over 4,000 workpeople. The present newly-completed building covers barely one-third of the site and has a frontage of 250 feet to Derby-street, the elevation being classic design and imposing in effect. A central feature is a massive turret of grey Ruabon terra-cotta. As in the case of Messrs Weinberg's premises, the factory is equipped with every modern convenience in the interests of the workers, and the construction is fireproof throughout.
