THE CATHEDRAL IMPROVEMENT SCHEME - The work in connection with the erection of a south porch to the Manchester Cathedral, to be given by Mr. James Jardine, began on Monday, and the structure is expected to be finished in twelve months’ time. The architect is Mr J. S. Crowther, Manchester, and the builders are Messrs John Nicholl and Son, Rochdale. The cost of the undertaking will be £2,300 [Manchester Times 7 June 1890 page 7]
