Manor Mill, Victoria Street, Chadderton

A five-storey mill built in 1906 for the Manor Mill Company. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964. Production ceased in 1990 and the building purchased by the Local Authority.

SOD CUTTING CEREMONY - On Saturday afternoon Mr. Joseph Hilton, J.P., manager of the Irk Mill Company, Middleton, cut the first sod in connection with the mill which is being erected by the Manor Spinning Company at Busk, of which Mr. Hilton is the chairman.
