A leading manufacturer of powdered blancmange, Pearce Duff was established in 1847 and by the 1860s occupied factory premises in Long Lane Borough. In 1890 they relocated to the former glue factory of Young and Company at Rowel Road/ Spa Road, Bermondsey. 1891 building works included a new building and alterations to existing premise. The accepted tender was £10,295.
