For a start, there will be 68 letting bedrooms, all with hot and cold water, on the first and second floors. But if the need arises the building is so designed that an additional floor with 34 letting bedrooms can be added- The cost of the site, including various services, is £8,000, and the building and equipment of the hotel will cost up to £34,000. The architect, Mr. Halstead Best, has designed an up-to-date building with an attractive external appearance. Features include a spacious entrance hall, lounges, cafe, restaurant, smoke room and bars. Central heating will be provided, and there will a passenger lift. SITE —The site to be acquired is one of the most valuable In Fleetwood, ideally situated at the corner of Manor Road and Laldley's Walk, and the only one remaining on the Fleetwood Esplanade, which has been approved by the Corporation for a fully-licensed Residential Hotel. The Vendors have owned this site for number of years and retained it for this special purpose. „ For years past there has been lack satisfactory Hotel accommodation In this popular resort. Modern conveniences, such as gas, main water, main drainage, electric light, telephone, etc., are all available. DESCRIPTION OF HOTEL —The Company’s Architect. The building is so designed that an additional floor with 35 Letting Bedrooms and 4 Staff Bedrooms can be added when and if found necessary. LICENCE. —It is of first importance to this Company that the Vendors have obtained valuable full provisional Excise Licence for the proposed Hotel and are transferring the benefits thereof to the Company, subject to the usual formal application being made and the approval of the Licensing Authority after the buildings are completed and ready for business. This provisional Excise Licence is the only one granted in Fleetwood during the past 30 years. No other hotel licence is likely to be granted on the Promenade for many years. COMPETITION—There are only two similar Licensed Residential Hotels In Fleetwood. The development of Fleetwood has proceeded rapidly since these were erected, and the resident and visiting population has increased considerably. There Is now a shortage of satisfactory Hotel accommodation in the Town.
