A NEW MASONIC HALL TO BE ERECTED IN MANCHESTER - The photograph is from the architect's drawing of the Bridge Street front of the new Masonic Hall. which is to be erected on the site of the old Queen's Theatre. The present building in Cooper Street has long been inadequate for the needs of the members of the Order. and the project, for the provision of better accommodation is one of long standing. The erection of the building has been delayed in consequence of the war. In the new hall rooms are provided for the meetings of Masonic lodges in Manchester and also for the transaction of the business associated with the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire and of the charity and other committees. It is intended also that the hall shall be a meeting-place for members of the Order in East Lancashire when they are in Manchester. The architect of the now building is Mr James B. Broadbent, of Cooper Street, Manchester. [Manchester Guardian 3 April 1915 page 6]
