Dunkerley built Meadowlands in 1903 for his brother William and sister-in-law Amy. The style of the house is reminiscent of Charles Voysey with its gables and steeply pitched roofs, and features various Arts and Crafts detail. There is also a lodge and a small stable block. A nursery wing was added in 1907, and the gardens were designed by the influential landscape architect, Thomas H Mawson. The family lived here until the 1950s when the house was sold to British Gas and became a training college. In 1998, it was sold again and became the Mere Court Hotel, which it has remained ever since. It is a Grade II Listed Building.

This house has been recently added to and completed at Mere near Knutsford on a pleasant level site. There is a pond fringed with trees near the garden front. The design of the entrance front is very picturesque and the small gables over the oriel bays in the centre portion tell very happily. The lead light windows and casements are by Wragge and Company. Knutsford bricks were used for all the facings, the upper parts of the walls being roughcast and the gables covered with oak shingles. The roofs are of Brosseley tiles and the beams and bargeboards of Danzig oak. There is a good billiards room with high open timber roof. The general contractor was Mr Jonathan Pennington of Bowdon.
