Memorial Hall, Bodie Hill, Glasson Dock, Lancaster
MEMORIAL HALL AND CROSS FOR GLASSON DOCK, LANCASTER - This hall is treated in a domestic style appropriate to its purpose and architectural character. The site is intended to form the centre of a small village garden scheme with groups of houses approached by roads on both sides of the premises. The building consists of entrance hall, with committee and cloak rooms, an assembly hall, and reading room. Over the stage is arranged a good-sized billiard room approached by a staircase in the projecting bay. A memorial cross, to be carried out in stone, is intended to stand in front of the hall, and round its base the names of local fallen heroes are to be inscribed in panels. The drawing reproduced was exhibited at the Royal Academy this summer by the architect. Mr Charles B. Pearson, FRIBA, of Dalton Square, Lancaster. [Building News 15 October 1920 page 195]

The proposed war memorial and village garden scheme failed to materialise, the rectangular grassed plot to the east of the village hall being assumed the only trace.
