MEMORIAL WINDOW AT SALFORD ROYAL HOSPITAL On Saturday afternoon Lord Howard of Glossop visited the Salford Royal. Hospital and unveiled a stained-glass window, the gift of Mr. Andrew Boutflower, an honorary surgeon of the institution, in memory of his father, the late Mr. John Boutflower, who was for 44 years the senior house surgeon of the hospital, and for a much longer period was associated therewith. Mr. John Boutflower, who died in March, 1889, at the age of 91, was the senior member of the Royal College of Surgeons. Structural alterations within the hospital have included the removal of a central staircase opposite the main entrance and the new window has been fixed in this part over the doors of a wide corridor leading to the heart of the building. "The Good Samaritan' forms a fitting subject of illustration, and the new light is a good example of the stained glass art after the style of the old masters of it. Messrs. Heaton, Butler, and Bayne, of London, have produced the picture, and the window bas been fixed under the supervision of Mr Henry Lord, the hospital architect.
