Methodist School Buildings Mealhouse Lane Atherton

The foundation stones have just been laid of a new school adjoining the Independent Chapel, Mealhouse Lane, Atherton. The large room of the new school will be 35 feet by 27 feet and capable of accommodating 300 children. There will be three classrooms and a minister’s vestry. A separate entrance will be provided for boys and girls. Mr William Townson of Bolton is the contractor and the architects are Messrs Potts Son and Pickup, Bolton and Manchester.
