NEW SWEDENBORGIAN CHURCH AT FAILSWORTH - The dedication services of the New Jerusalem Church, Failsworth, were held yesterday. …The building is Gothic in style, is faced with Yorkshire stone and stands on a plot of ground immediately fronting the main road. The body of the church is 65 feet by 40 feet with transept projections measuring 23 feet by 12 feet 6 inches on each side. Accommodation is provided for 723 worshippers. The roof is open-timbered, octagon shaped, with circular ribs springing from corbels on the side walls. The whole of the work has been executed from the designs and under the superintendence of Messrs Potts Pickup and Dixon, architects, of Manchester, the contractor being Mr Thomas Taylor junior of Failsworth.
