New School Rooms Regent Road Salford
The new buildings were to replace an existing school on Regent Road. Hon Wilbraham Egerton MP laid the foundation stone on Saturday 28 July 1866
NEW SCHOOL ROOMS, REGENT ROAD, SALFORD - The new schoolrooms are being built to the designs of Mr J Medland Taylor, the architect. They will accommodate about 670 children. The infant school will be a large room 30 feet wide on the ground floor and will answer conveniently for parish meetings and social gatherings. The girls’ and boys' rooms will be 20 feet wide. At the south end of the infants school will be a teacher's house. The spacious site and half the cost of the building has been given by Lord Egerton. The Committee of Council have granted about ,800 and the rest is being made up by private subscription.
