Norbreck Garden City Estate Norbreck (Blackpool)
The plan of the Norbreck Garden City Estate, prepared by Mr Halsted Best of Blackpool, provides for 500 houses. (Note no obvious location apparent from the street map)
PROPOSED ERECTION OF 500 HOUSES AT NORBRECK - 'The Fleetwood Chronicle" understands that Blackpool Corporation have acquired for street improvement purposes land adjoining a considerable length of the existing public highways surrounding the estate known as the Norbreck Garden City Estate. It is expected that building activities will now be accelerated. The scheme will eventually comprise about 500 houses and will be more or less self-contained as provision has been made for the place to have its own shopping centre, and sites have reserved for places of worship. Areas have been appropriated in the lay-out for use as tennis courts and recreation grounds. The lay- out has been prepared by Mr. Halstead Best, F.S.I., of St. John's Chambers, Blackpool.
