OUTRINGTON SCHOOL, LYMM, CHESHIRE - This school, erected for Mr. G. C. Dewhurst, gives accommodation tor 150 boys, with the addition of a large classroom, with separate entrance, for Sunday meetings. A school-house in connection with the school is now in course of erection. The materials used are stock bricks, with red brick facings, and tiles for the roofs. Messrs. Bell & Roper are the architects. [The Architect 2 February 1878 page 64]

School House adjacent - 3 Oughtrington Crescent. G C Dewhurst was a Manchester cotton merchant who had moved to Lymm in 1862. The school closed in the early 1970s and was converted to a Community Centre, which opened in the late 1970s.
