NEW PARISH CHURCH, ST HELENS, LANCASHIRE - A perspective view and the ground plan of this large church to be erected at St. Helens was given in our issue of December 5 last from the previous exhibition of the Royal Academy. The elevations and plan of the same building were shown in the same gallery at Burlington House this year. Mr W Douglas Caroe, M.A.(Cantab.), FSA FRIBA, is the architect. Church replaced the fomer Parish Church of St Mary, burnt down in 1916. The proposed scheme illustrated in Building News was subsequently modified with the upper stages of the tower unbuilt.
