ST JAMES THE LESS, ANCOATS – Mrs Fraser (wife of the Bishop) yesterday afternoon laid the foundation stone of the parsonage which is to be built adjoining the church of St James the Less, Little Newton Street Ancoats, in this city. Among those present were the Bishop of Manchester, Archdeacon Anson, and Canon Tonge. The parsonage is to be erected after the designs of Mr H C Charlwood, architect, and is estimated to cost about £700. Manchester Guardian 2 August 1884 page 9]
